Killowen Farm is a proud member of Origin Green. We are committed to sustainability along the supply chain. This means encouraging biodiversity in our fields, giving space to wildness, and drawing water from our own well. Our sheds are being fitted with solar panels to gather the sun’s energy. Our Single Origin Dairy means our milk travels moments not miles, keeping down our carbon footprint. And where we can, we source local. It’s a new day, it’s a new dawn.
Amongst lush, green fields, there are purple swathes of heather. Shining, bright buttercups. Native, wild bilberries, glistening in the bushes. And the coconut-vanilla scent of wildflower gorse, are all around you. Sweet hedgehogs trundle through. Frogs, foxes, rabbits, and hares share the hidden byways. Robins, housemartins, blackbirds and wrens sing the morning to you from ancient beech trees, wise with time.
It’s a voice we cherish, protect, and sustain.
Killowen Farm is Ireland’s first and only Single Origin Dairy. Our craft is time-honoured. Our process embraces best practice, from around the world. Rich dairy milk, a lash of cream, live cultures, and a smidge of sugar. Real fruits whose flavours get to sing because they remain pure: no preservatives, no additives, no colours.
Where possible we source local to reduce our footprint.
We choose a smaller, tastier spring rhubarb, sourced from Pat Keogh, down the way. Our summer Wexford strawberries are plump, ripe and sweet. Our delicious blackcurrants are courtesy of friend and fellow farmer, Des Jeffares. All natural, all local. Of course, we can’t source everything from the fields around our farm. Wexford may be known as the sunny southeast, but the lemons are having none of it. But where we can we do. And you can taste it in the yogurt. All the wild bounties of Mother Nature in one little pot.
