Killowen Farm has been shortlisted in the Food Producer of the Year 2013 (East) category of the Good Food Ireland awards.
Founded in 2006 by Margaret Jeffares, Good Food Ireland has initiated the link between the agri-food and tourism sectors by bridging the gap between Irish food produce, to an authentic Irish cuisine. Today Good Food Ireland has over 600 Approved Providers; Ireland’s top restaurants and cafes, culinary accommodation, food shops, pubs and bars, cookery schools and food producers committed to a local food philosophy.
The Good Food Ireland Awards were created to redefine the ‘good food experience in Ireland’ as being of the highest quality, authentic, responsible and rewarding. The Awards are rooted in a belief that if customers can access the very best authentic food experiences that the island of Ireland has to offer through a trusted resource, we will build a culinary picture of our country, support local economy and develop strong food communities.
Award winners will have succeeded in delivering the Good Food Ireland experience to supreme levels of excellence.
The Good Food Ireland Awards take place on Tuesday, November 19th in The Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin and the Guest of Honour will be An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, T.D.
